833 Christians will be martyred tomorrow! As incredible as it seems, it’s true. An average of 833 believers are killed daily because of their faith.

That’s more than 300,000 Christians martyred each year!

These staggering statistics come from David Barrett, editor of World Christian Encyclopedia and a leading authority on Christianity world-wide. In nearly every country where Bible League materials were used last year, including Mexico and the Philippines, believers were murdered for their faith.

He concludes that the worldwide statistical chance of becoming a martyr in your lifetime, if you are a Christian, is one in 200. If you are a missionary, it is one in 50. If you are a native evangelist fulltime your chances are one in 20.

Lenin thought that those who believed in God were worse than fools. “Every man who occupies himself with the construction of a god, or merely even agrees to it, prostitutes himself in the worst way,” he wrote. “For he occupies himself not with activity, but with self-contemplation and self-reflection, and tries thereby to deify his most unclean, most stupid, and most servile features and pettiness.” Consequently, anyone who believes in God is not simply in error; he is mentally deranged. This is why believers in the Soviet Union are frequently judged insane and committed to mental institutions.

Frankfurt, W. Germany – A report released by the International Society for Human Rights says that more that 25,000 Christians worldwide are imprisoned for their faith in Christ.

Christians are being held in penitentiaries, hard labor camps, and other detention centers in several nations. Particularly cited as violators of Christians’ rights were Ethiopia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Burundi, all Marxist-leaning African states. In Mozambique alone, 12,000 believers are being held in agricultural work camps. In Ethiopia, 10,000 Christians are imprisoned, some for nothing more than wearing Christian symbols in public.
