The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) announced the winners of the 2007 Christian Book Awards during the 2007 International Christian Retail Show (ICRS) in Atlanta.

In the Bible category, the winner was The Archaeological Study Bible NIV, (Zondervan, March 2006). This unique study Bible is filled with informative articles and full-color photographs that take readers on an illustrated walk through biblical history and culture.

In the Bible Reference & Study category, the winner was The IVP Atlas of Bible History by Paul Lawrence (IVP Academic, a division of InterVarsity Press, September 2006). Taking a narrative approach, it draws readers into the rich resources available today on the Bible’s history, geography and archaeology. The many maps, photographs, drawings and reconstructions on every page help readers see things through the eyes of the people in the Bible.

John Piper also won in the Christian Living category for What Jesus Demands from the World (Crossway Books, September 2006).

Established in 1978 as the Gold Medallion Book Awards by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, the Christian Book Awards recognize the absolute highest quality in Christian books. Based on excellence in content, literary quality, design and significance of contribution, the Christian Book Awards are the oldest and among the most prestigious in the religious publishing industry.
