Recently
newspapers carried the story of Ruth Stewart and how she celebrated her 100th
birthday. Defying her age, she took a ride on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
News accounts quoted her as saying, ” If I were 20 years younger, I would
buy one I think they’re just beautiful, but I never could afford it.” Richard
Ireland gave her the ride at the request of Stewart’s nieces and nephews. They
wanted their aunt to fulfill her dream. Her
top speed was 33 mph, but Ruth commented, “It could have been a lot faster.
Next time, when he comes back, I’ll go 50. That will be fun.”
