Outstanding speakers and a warm spirit characterize the fifth annual National Conference on Preaching, held May 4-6 at the Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
Pastors and spouses from across the United States enjoyed the magnificent facilities of Peachtree Presbyterian while they heard the insights of some of the nation’s finest preachers, including Stuart Briscoe, James Earl Massey, Eugene Lowry, Frank Harrington and many others.
The theme of the conference was “Preaching Truth in an Age of Doubt,” and speakers addressed that theme in a number of challenging and thought-provoking ways in their addresses at general sessions. In addition, conference registrants heard a group of outstanding sermons, and chose from among fifteen practical workshop sessions. Workshop leaders included pastors drawn from Atlanta’s leading pulpits, as well as preaching faculty as many of the nation’s outstanding seminaries.
While the National Conference on Preaching was underway, the National Conference for Ministry Wives was being led by Jill Briscoe, along with several workshop leaders from the Atlanta area.
Some of America’s favorite preachers will be on the program of the sixth annual National Conference on Preaching, February 22-24, 1994, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach, California.
Speakers like Lloyd John Ogilvie, Robert Schuller, John Huffman and others are already committed to participate, and invitations have gone to additional speakers who are yet to commit. NCP/6 promises to be the finest program yet in this excellent conference series.
A special treat at NCP/6 will be the music of Charles Billingsley, a young contemporary Christian vocal artist who is becoming a favorite of congregations across the country.
