Les Baux de Provence is one of the most visited places in southern France.
Overlooking the village are the remains of a once great castle and fortress. It
was built by the lords of Baux who claimed to be descended from King Balthazar,
one of the three wise men.
While it seems improbable it is possible that they were correct. In any case
they put the star of Bethlehem on their coat of arms.
Christians are not so much concerned about physical descent as they are about
spiritual descent. Every believer considers himself to be related to one more
significant than any of the Magi. Every Christian is regarded as a brother of
the Christ who was born at Bethlehem, and therefore a child of God.
