The November 18, 1996 issue of The New Yorker carried an interesting cartoon.
Three well dressed business men were sitting around in leather armchairs in
their club. One of them is saying, “I sold my soul for about a tenth of
what the things are going for now!” Whenever we sell our souls, and
whatever the price, we always sell them far, far too cheaply.

Robert Shannon, a retired preacher living in North Carolina, began preaching at the age of 16. He has preached in churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, and Florida, his longest ministry at First Christian Church of Largo Florida.
