In 1961, during Billy Graham’s London Crusade, Ruth Graham went to Belfast to visit a former missionary she had known in China. The missionary lived in a small apartment. Her packing boxes had become her furniture. She was collecting empty plastic bottles and similar things to send to missionaries in Africa. Five days earlier, Ruth Graham had enjoyed tea with Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace. She said, “I couldn’t help but feel I had tea with royalty twice in one week.”

A third generation preacher, Mike Shannon is Professor of Preaching at Cincinnati Bible Seminary of Cincinnati Christian University.
