The pastor placed a newspaper ad for a custodian who could handle things around the church. He was pleased to see a young man show up at the door early the next morning, so the pastor began to question him.
“Can you paint and fix things? asked the pastor. “I can,” said the young man. “Can you polish the silver, wash the dishes and keep the law mowed?” “I suppose so,” the young man again answered. The pastor said, “Can you take out the garbage and handle plumbing problems?”
The young man interrupted, “Please, Sir, I came here to talk about arrangements for my wedding; but if it’s going to be anything like that, I’d just as soon forget all about it.”
