While we usually highlight books for pastors in this spot, let me direct you now to a book for your church members. Thom Rainer has written I Am a Church Member (B&H Books), which should be required reading for every church member in America. (OK, I’d say the world, but I don’t think the book has been translated into other languages yet.) Rainer corrects many common but unbiblical notions of church membership and offers practical counsel to believers who wish to honor God and advance His kingdom through their own congregations. This is a book you should recommend to your members—and buy for several of them!
