I love the story of Eutychus—the one who paid a terrible price for napping during the message—and so do Gary Millar and Phil Campbell. In their new book Saving Eutychus: How to Preach God’s Word and Keep People Awake (Matthias Media), the authors (one from Ireland, one from Australia) offer practical counsel on keeping sermons biblical and engaging. A more complete review will appear in an upcoming issue of Preaching, but suffice it to say this is a book that preachers will find enjoyable and convicting.
