Steve Yeaton takes note that while most people fear losing use of their arms or legs, one woman dreams of it. According to a July 17, 2013, post on FoxNews.com, Chloe Jennings-White is an able-bodied woman who wants to be a paraplegic. She has found a doctor willing to do the surgery that would cut her sciatic and femoral nerves, but it will cost her $25,000. Most people can’t imagine wanting to become physically disabled intentionally, yet spiritually we demonstrate the same desire when we voluntarily give up our freedom in Christ to reclaim the slavery of sin.

As Paul encouraged, “…do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness” (Rom. 6:12-13).
