The news recently told the story of a man in Indiana who was killed less than seven hours after getting married. His name was Riley Knight. After leaving his wedding reception, he saw a car that had slid off the road with a woman inside. He told his new wife they had to help. Trying to help, he stopped to give assistance in the dark and snow when he was struck by three vehicles. He could have passed the stranded woman by with the excuse that he was too busy; it was too late or too cold. He tried to help and had to take a risk. He ended up sacrificing his own life. While we may not have to pay that sacrifice, service is frequently inconvenient and risky.
