This woman’s taxes were quite heavy.
At least that was the result, after a 28-year-old French woman paid her 2013 taxes in coins weighing in at 66 pounds.
According to a Sept. 17, 2014, UPI story, the woman visited the tax authority office to make a “final payment on a bill that originally totaled $1,434 and she handed over $268 in coins.” Tax office workers spent more than two hours counting the change.
“To pay my taxes on time, I had to sell my car,” said Audrey, who is unemployed but owed the taxes on her income from 2013.
“I’m not against paying taxes, but I don’t think we should have to pay so much,” the woman said, adding: “I am French, and I love to complain!”
