According to Mental Floss magazine, in Oaxaca, Mexico, every Christmas season local residents carve religious figurines from radishes. In fact, Dec. 23 is called, “Noche de los Rabanos,” or “Night of the Radishes.” While this practice may seem strange to most of us, perhaps some of our customs would seem strange to the people of Oaxaca. Whatever else we do at Christmas, let us make every effort to remember Jesus. Without Him, it is just another day.
