In a classic “Peanuts” comic strip, Linus is talking to Charlie Brown during class about his history test and says, “Oh, I hope I got a good grade. Please let me have a good grade. Please. Please. Please.” Charlie replies, “You should have done all that hoping and praying before you studied for the test.” Linus reminds him, “Hoping and praying should never be confused with studying.”

A third generation preacher, Mike Shannon is Professor of Preaching at Cincinnati Bible Seminary of Cincinnati Christian University. He has served as a preaching minister, church planter, and college professor. His most recent preaching ministry was at the historic First Christian Church of Johnson City, Tennessee. In his nearly two decades at Cincinnati Christian University, Mike has served as both professor and Dean of the Seminary.
