Here’s an amazing story: A doctor saves the life of a baby, only to have the favor returned 30 years later.
According to a March 31, 2015, story in the Sydney Morning Herald, pediatrician Dr. Michael Shannon worked around the clock to save the life of a premature baby. Thirty years later, Dr. Shannon was in an accident and was pinned inside a burning vehicle. One of the rescue workers who helped free him was paramedic Chris Trokey.
The news story reports: “When Trokey visited the hospital where Dr. Shannon spent 45 days recovering from internal injuries, he realized the man he had helped save was the man who had given him the gift of life 30 years earlier.
“Trokey is now father to a son, and—you guessed it—Dr. Shannon is the boy’s pediatrician.”
It’s a reminder that our actions have far-reaching implications, and we don’t know how those acts may resonate through the years. As you serve faithfully today, who knows how God may use your actions to touch lives far away and many years from now.
May God use your actions and your words to touch lives this week!
Blessings!
