War is always serious business, but is sometimes started for the strangest of reasons. In 1925, there was a war between Greece and Bulgaria. While there is more than one version of how the war started, a commonly told story says the conflict resulted from an incident in which a Greek soldier ran across the Bulgarian border to retrieve his pet dog. The solder was shot and eventually The League of Nations had to intervene. It is sometimes called “The War of the Stray Dog.” This may seem quite strange, but wars have started in businesses, homes and churches for much less.
