Sadly, the McWhopper is not to be.
In honor of the International Day of Peace on Sept. 21, 2015, Burger King proposed to rival McDonald’s that they join forces to create a temporary Atlanta restaurant serving the McWhopper, a combination of the signature burgers of the two chains.
Unfortunately, Ronald McDonald rejected the gesture of cooperation, so now Burger King has reached terms of peace with the restaurant chain Denny’s. The two will combine to merge a Whopper with the Denny’s Slamburger.
Burger King has invited other restaurants to join in the amusing marketing venture and holds out a hand of reconciliation to McDonalds, according to a Sept. 2, 2015, UPI story.
“McDonald's, please take your time. We're totally at peace with that,” Burger King said.
