It’s that time of year—when we think of turkey and dressing (hold the cranberry sauce, please), an afternoon of football and—oops, almost forgot—being thankful.
In the crazy environment in which we live today, it’s easy to forget about being thankful. Schedules are hectic, bills are due, demands are growing—it’s easy to be consumed with the pace and the pressure that surrounds us.
However, for a moment, pause and think about thankfulness. I am thankful to have been blessed with a loving wife, who puts up with me even when I don’t deserve it; two teenage sons, who still claim me even when I embarrass them; and a dog who thinks I’m a hero. (I won’t mention the cat, who considers himself superior to every living soul in the house.) Most of all, I’ve been blessed with God’s grace, with a Lord who loves me despite my sin and who resides within me although I am so, so unworthy.
What about you? Got anything to be thankful for today?
Blessings!
