As you think about volumes to order for summer reading, one book that should be on any bibliophile’s list is The Time of Our Lives (Twelve) by Peggy Noonan. Noonan is a former speechwriter for Reagan and Bush 41, and for many years has written a weekly column for the Wall Street Journal. This fascinating volume is a collection of some of her best past work, and is not only valuable for its insightful commentary but for the sheer beauty of her writing. Preachers are communicators, and we can learn much from other gifted communicators. Noonan is one of the best around, and you’ll enjoy this collection drawn from her columns and speeches.

Michael Duduit is the founding publisher and editor of Preaching magazine. He is also the founding Dean of the new College of Christian Studies and Professor of Christian Ministry at Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina.
