It amazes me to think that people who are 15 years old were not alive when the events of 9/11 devastated our world. It’s even possible that those who are now 20 years old don’t remember that day, where they were, or what they were doing. Even though many of us can vividly remember the events of that day, time is moving on. We cannot change that fact, or stop that from occurring. How do we continue to move forward, while remembering and honoring the fallen and those affected?
Let’s focus on a character quality of God that can carry us through the best of times, and yes, even the worst of times: the goodness of God. We should worship God and preach on this subject, sharing this character quality of God with the world. Let’s always keep in mind that many people in the world today experience tragic events like this, or worse, on a constant, regular basis. We need to proclaim the goodness of God to a lost and hurting world.
I encourage you to focus in on this quality of God and teach your congregation through the Word and worship that even through the darkest times, God can be trusted and worshiped, for He is good.
