Leap for joy.

Chad and Melissa Croff, a southeast Michigan couple, may be feeling that way after having a new daughter born Feb. 29, 2016,—the second time Melissa gave birth to a baby girl on that day in a leap year.

Young Evelyn Joy, weighing in at 6 pounds, 9 ounces, shares her birthday with older sister Eliana Adaya, who was born on the same day in 2012.

"It's a little surreal," Melissa Croff said in an interview. "It's kind of like winning the lottery, the baby lottery."

According to a March 1, 2016, Reuters story, “Currently, the couple celebrates Eliana's birthday on the closest Saturday on which relatives can agree. In the future, the girls will pick a celebration day during non-leap years.

“The serendipitous timing doesn't happen often. Guinness World Records lists five siblings born on the same day in the United States, Feb. 20, from 1952 to 1966, according to the hospital system.”
