Some passengers just get special treatment.
At least that’s what happened on Australian carrier Qantas, which reported that a passenger on a flight from Melbourne to Wellington found a live frog in her salad, according to an Associated Press story.
The 1-inch Australian whistling tree frog didn’t get a chance to hop away, however. The passenger quickly placed the lid back on her meal, preventing any escape. Officials met the plane when it landed at Wellington Airport and confiscated the frog.
A Qantas spokesman says the airline has changed its lettuce supplier since the incident. Tree frogs were common in the area where the lettuce was grown.
No word as to whether the frog received frequent-flyer miles.
