I always knew those things were unhealthy.
A 35-year-old Australian woman recently spent four days in the hospital after a collapse caused when her skinny jeans cut off the blood supply to her calf muscles.
According to a June 23, 2015, NBC News story, she had spent the day helping relatives move—including lots of physical activity—and when she attempted to walk home that night through a park, "her feet became increasingly weak to the point where she fell," according to a neurologist.
NBC reports, “She eventually managed to crawl to the side of the road and hailed a taxi to the hospital. Medical staff were forced to cut the tight jeans from her legs ‘because they couldn't remove them any other way.’ She was discharged after four days at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. The neurologist warned others to wear looser clothing and said people who insist on wearing skinny jeans should stand up and walk around to get the blood pumping if their legs feel tingly.”
Even if my legs don’t feel tingly, I plan to avoid skinny jeans. You’re welcome.
