While your church is holding a service or study in your facility, would you like members and guests who aren’t able to attend in person to be able to watch that event from their mobile phones or iPads remotely?
That’s the purpose behind YouVersion, an application that allows people to interact with church events in other locations via mobile devices. Developed by LifeChurch, the app is part of a package of online congregational resources packaged into Digital Church by LifeWay Christian Resources.
YouVersion “allows the church to communicate better with its congregation for live events,” explains Matt Morris, who leads the Digital Church initiative for LifeWay. Many churches already are using the application, which is a free resource that has been integrated into Digital Church.
Morris says that Digital Church “is an aggregate of Web-based resources and services that churches can use to help their ministries grow. The whole idea is to help churches recognize we are in a digital age and to help them put together the best resources that already are available in these areas.”
Other applications available through Digital Church include online giving applications, a variety of church management functions (including child check-in programs), church Websites, online worship planning and others.
