Church leaders are always on the lookout for strong devotional material, both to recommend to others and to enjoy for our own spiritual growth. James Merritt’s new book 52 Weeks Through the Bible (Harvest House) is a useful new resource that will help readers take a fresh look at scripture as they explore various passages. The book is divided into 52 chapters – one for each week of the year – and each chapter includes 5 brief sections, in the event you want to use one of those for each weekday. (I plan to just take a chapter each Monday.)
