Things are changing all around us, and church leaders have to be able to exegete the culture in addition to exegeting scripture. A useful tool in that task will be the new book BarnaTrends 2017: What’s New and What’s Next at the Intersection of Faith and Culture (Baker Books). Developed by the folks at Barna Research, this fascinating volume draws on their extensive research to create a travel guide to contemporary culture – from politics to media to generational change. There are articles, interviews, and an abundance of illustrations, graphs and charts to help readers better understand the realities of today’s culture. This will be a worthwhile book for any church leader.
