Charles Swindoll’s book Tales of the Tardy Oxcart was actually a book of illustrations and stories used in his preaching and writing, but who knew? Now Thomas Nelson has wisely reissued the book under the title Swindoll’s Ultimate Book of Illustrations & Quotes. Containing more than 1,500 stories, quotes and other sermon sparklers drawn from many sources (including several from Preaching magazine), this book will be a welcome addition to the bookshelf of many preachers. Illustration books tend to be really good or really, really bad. This one is really good – the only thing that would make it better is to be issued in CD-ROM version so we can run searches other than the topical headings provided in the printed text.
