Recent years have
seen a renewed interest in the life and work of Jonathan Edwards, the great
preacher-philosopher of colonial America. Broadman & Holman has recently
released The
Glory And Honor Of God, Volume 2 of a collection of previously unpublished
sermons, edited by Michael D. McMullen. McMullen transcribed the sermons, drawn
from a collection of Edwards’ papers held at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript
Library at Yale University. Those interested in Edwards or the history of American
preaching will be grateful for this excellent collection. The volume includes
a brief but helpful essay on the preaching of Jonathan Edwards.
