Ever wish you had a quick reference tool to deal with some of the tough questions with which we are confronted? The Pocket Handbook of Christian Apologetics
(InterVarsity Press), by Peter Kreeft and Ronald K. Tacelli, provides
brief but solid discussion of an evangelical approach in chapters
like “The Nature of God,” “The Problem of Evil,” “Christianity and
Other Religions,” and many more. (In fact, the chapter topics suggest
what could be an effective doctrinal sermon series.) This book is for
quick reference, not for serious research, and there will be areas
you’ll disagree with the authors. (I thought their treatment of
salvation was a bit “wobbly,” to paraphrase Margaret Thatcher.)
