John Stott is known around the globe as a Christian preacher, author and statesman. In his new book Why I Am A Christian (InterVarsity Press), Stott provides a solid and understandable case for Christian faith. The book grew out of a series of sermons Stott preached in 1986 (with some supplementary material). It is not a replacement for C.S. Lewis’ Mere Christianity (which I still consider one of the best resources to place in the hands of a searching unbeliever), but Stott’s small volume will be an excellent tool in helping contemporary people (believers and unbelievers alike) recognize the solid foundation on which Christian faith stands.
