Much thought has gone into what preaching is and how it should be done, but here are some simple thoughts on the basics of preaching.

What do you do when you realize you're in trouble, that all your training isn't going to correct the situation, and you have to make a decision-fast?

When it comes to communication-writing or speaking, and perhaps especially preaching-start with what you know and only what you know. Don't guess when you're handling the Word of God.

Are you improving as a pastor and preacher? If so, reflect on why that's the case; spend some time appreciating your growth; and look for ways to continue the pattern.
