There is an Irish legend, probably part fact and part myth, that the King of Ulster (Cuchulain) knew his very presence would strike fear in his enemies. His army was attacked by troops from another province; and after a long battle, the king was fatally wounded. As he was dying, he had his soldiers tie his body to a rock in a standing position with a spear in his hand so the enemy would think he was still alive.

A third generation preacher, Mike Shannon is Professor of Preaching at Cincinnati Bible Seminary of Cincinnati Christian University. He has served as a preaching minister, church planter, and college professor. His most recent preaching ministry was at the historic First Christian Church of Johnson City, Tennessee.
