Evidently, Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain, is venerated by a tribe on the island nation of Vanuatu. They believe he is the fulfillment of a prophecy about a spirit that would take the form of a light-skinned man who would travel the world and marry a powerful woman. They became convinced by seeing Prince Philip’s picture and learning of his history and the circumstances of his life that he was that man. Later, after meeting him, they were certain and started a “Prince Philip Movement.” They exchange gifts with him. They carry around photos of him. From everything we hear, Prince Philip is a very nice person, but when it comes to worship, we should stick with the Prince of peace and King of kings.
