A penitent monk single-handedly carved steps in the stones leading to the top
of Mt. Sinai where Moses received the Law from God. There are 1,360 steps to
the pinnacle. Pilgrims still climb those steps today. There are only eight
steps to the pinnacle of Christian character, according to 2 Peter 1:5-7. The
steps are faith, goodness, knowledge, self control, perseverance, godliness,
brotherly kindness and love. Those steps will lead you to the very highest
point of Christian conduct.
